While you’re away

When you travel, Ben looks after the whole household. He can stay the night, so your pets keep their routine and the house is never empty, or stop by to check that everything is just as you left it.

  • Mail and packages brought in.
  • Plants watered and trash out on collection day.
  • Lights and blinds changed so the house looks lived in.
  • A note and a photo each day.
  • Keys and door codes kept private and secure.

  2. Meet and greet

Questions

Which towns do you cover?

Rumson, Atlantic Highlands and the towns around them, like Fair Haven, Little Silver, Sea Bright, Red Bank and Middletown. If you’re not sure yours is included, just ask.

What hours does an overnight cover?

Ben arrives by 7 PM for dinner and the evening routine, and stays through the morning walk and breakfast, until about 7 AM. If your pets need someone in the middle of the day too, add a midday visit.

What does a house check include?

A walk through the house, mail and packages brought in, lights and blinds changed, plants watered, trash out on collection day, and a careful look for anything amiss, like a leak or a window left open. You get a note and a photo after every check.

Do I need pets to book a house check?

Not at all. A house check is just for the house, whether or not there are pets at home.

How do I change or cancel a stay?

Give Ben at least 72 hours’ notice and there’s no charge. With less notice, the first night is charged in full, since a night is hard to fill at the last minute. He’s always glad to waive it for a real emergency.

Which days count as holidays?

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

How far ahead should I book?

At least a week ahead, so Ben can hold your spot. Need something sooner? Call or text 908-239-4325 and he’ll see what he can do. Bookings made with less than 24 hours’ notice add $15.
